The materials provided free online were developed by the National Collaborative Work Group on Green Cleaning and Chemical Policy Reform in Schools during the 2007-08 school year. Work Group members are: Healthy Schools Network; American Federation of Teachers; American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees-International; Green Purchasing Institute; Green Schools Initiative; New York State United Teachers; INFORM; Green Seal; National Association of School Nurses; American Lung Association of Maine; and Massachusetts Committee on Occupational Safety and Health/MA-Healthy Schools. Their logos appear on the homepage of this website as well as on the Toolkit Flyer and Poster.

The Cleaning for Healthy Schools Toolkit is designed to be:

• "open source", that is, not proprietary or owned by any one organization;
  
• "industry free", that is, developed without private corporate support from the cleaning chemical or related industries and thus not carrying corporate logos into schools; and,
  
• "customizable", that is, designed to be picked up and adapted for use by YOU-a local, state, national organization seeking to accelerate the policies and practices of healthy cleaning products and practices in schools by educating your members or constituents.

The Toolkit is organized into four modules, with one sample webcast presentation for each module archived on the homepage to help you and others understand what Cleaning for Healthy Schools and the use of green cleaning products is and is not, and to model how our National Work Group would like presentations to be given. The archived presentations are there for general information and as a permanent reference point for anyone initiating a new training or outreach programs.

I agree that in adapting or customizing the TOOLKIT files for use, I/my organization will retain the National Collaborative Work Group on Green Cleaning name and retain the www.cleanginforhealthyschools.org url on files where it appears. The url is the permanent location for the customizable files which may be edited by the Work Group from time to time to account for new practices and new information.

I agree that I/my organization will not represent myself or my organization as a member of the National Collaborative Work Group without express written permission from the Work Group.
